Hideous Kinky
 is a 1998 drama directed by Scottish director Gillies MacKinnon. Based on Esther Freud's semi-autobiographical 1992 novel of the same name, it follows a young English mother who moves from London to Morocco with her two young daughters in the early 70s. The film stars Kate Winslet and French-Moroccan actor Saïd Taghmaoui. The soundtrack mixes original music with songs from the 60s, including tracks from Canned Heat, Richie Havens and the Incredible String Band.

Kon-Tiki is a 2012 historical drama film directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg about the 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition. The film was mainly shot on the island of Malta. The role of Thor Heyerdahl is played by Pål Sverre Hagen. The film is an international co-production between NorwayDenmarkGermanySweden, and the United Kingdom.
It was the highest-grossing film of 2012 in Norway and the country's most expensive production to date.[5] The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards.[6] It is Norway's fifth Academy Award nomination.[7] The film was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 70th Golden Globe Awards.[8] It is the first time a Norwegian film has been nominated for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe.[9]

Tracks is a 2013 Australian drama film directed by John Curran and starring Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver. It is an adaptation of Robyn Davidson's memoir of the same name, chronicling the author's nine-month journey on camels across the Australian desert.
